Are You a Nervous Wreck in Your Music Career?
Being an entertainer, whether established in your music career or building one, seems to mean having a really tightly wound up nervous system. Goes with the territory, you might say.
I think it’s part and parcel of the artistic mindset and anatomy that we all have to deal with – that bit (or more) of high strung nerves, being on edge, a bit nervous.
What do I suggest?
- Breathe deeply
- Surrender
- Submerge yourself in the process.
- Know that you’ll not come up empty-handed.
And here are some more of my tips for riding the reckless waves and navigating the uncharted seas:
1. Passion Flower herb – This is by far the best herb to take on a daily basis if you suffer from general anxiety and over-thinking everything. Take 3x a day, 2 capsules each. Passion flower, in the world of herbs, is called a “nervine”. It basically feeds the nervous system with nutrition. I take it daily and almost every night before bed.
2. Homeopathy – Google “homeopathy for anxiety disorders” and find the questionnaire (several pages). At the end of it you’ll find your unique prescription for all that ails you, specifically.
3. Baths – Epsom salts & lavender essential oils are the best detox and relaxant before bed that nature made.
4. Acupuncture – works wonders for the nervous system and for the voice – two in one.
5. Meditation – an answer for the monkey brain. 5 minutes a day is all you need, light a candle and do deep breathing.
6. To Do Lists – get it all down on paper and out of your brain. Chart out your next steps and your bigger picture – never stop listing.
7. Working Out – Yoga – Nutrition. Each plays a vital part in relaxation and de-stressing.
I hope you find yourself on your journey.. and I hope you never surrender your music.. not until you find it.
